MCFC Vs Everton - The Players' Lounge Monday 25th Jan K.O. Midnight

After an agonising two-week break since City's breathtaking performance at The Swamp on February 10th, the boys are finally back in action on Monday night against high-flying Everton.

Over 38 years' of history may have been rewritten by Dunne et al against our 'neighbours' from the outskirts of Manchester (Match of the Day highlights: http://www.viddler.com/explore/Turk1sh/videos/2/), but Monday night's game is probably going to have much more of a bearing on how our season pans out.

The Toffees currently occupy 4th spot in the Premier League and deservedly so, much to the annoyance of the plastic scousers from across Stanley Park. David Moyes's side are unbeaten in six, a run that includes a 1-0 victory over City at Goodison in January courtesy of an 'Alecia Keys' goal in the 31st minute.

Everton's away record this season places them 6th in the league, while City's impressive home record ranks them 3rd, so this match is nicely set up to be a cracker. Michael Johnson, Valeri Bojinov and Neri Castillo have all resumed full first-team training at Carrington and should come into contention for a place on the bench, while Elano Blumer and Vedran Corluka are likely to return to the side at the expense of two of the Derby Day heroes.

A victory would be a real sign of intent in City's push for a European spot, while defeat against one of our biggest rivals at this stage of the season is unthinkable. The match kicks of at 12:00am on Monday night/Tuesday morning and will be shown live with English commentary on the big screen at the Players' Lounge in Bur Dubai's Chelsea Hotel, and MCFC Dubai will be meeting from 10pm onwards. Come on City!!!!
