These are heady days indeed for all City supporters and this coming Saturday presents a fine opportunity to gauge just how far the Blues have come as they tackle in form Chelsea at The Bridge.
Avram Grant's men come into this match on the back of three straight Premiership victories since losing to the Rags at the Swamp on September 23rd. They will have been in action against Schalke in the Champions League on Wednesday night and hopefully this will give City a crucial advantage as they go into the game on the back of a week-long break. Chelsea will also be missing the services of Terry, Cole, Bridge and Ballack through injury.
Last season's corresponding fixture saw the Blues on the receiving end of a three-goal hammering, courtesy of strikes by Terry, Lampard and Drogba. But Manchester's finest are clearly a different proposition this season and the match promises to be an exciting dual between two teams keen on attacking, expansive football.
As usual, MCFC Dubai will be meeting at the Player's Lounge bar in Bur Dubai's aptly-named Chelsea Hotel for this encounter. The match will be featured live on the big screen, with full English commentary. So get yourselves down to the pub from 5pm onwards to sink a few beers and cheer on the lads. There is no early kick off this week, but the Rags will be picking up a guaranteed three points against Boro at 6pm and West Ham travel to Portsmouth for the 8.15pm fixture.
